P1 to P2 Licence

To go from P1 to P2 Licence you need to pass a Hazard Perception Test. This is a computer-based ability test to recognise dangerous situations when driving and to react safely.  To do this you need to book a Hazard Perception Test at a Service SA centre. Before doing this test you need to have held your P1 licence for at least 12 months. If you have incurred any demerit points you need to contact Service SA as you now will have further restriction place upon you, such as you may now need to hold P1 for two years. Once you have passed the Hazard Perception Test you will be given a certificate and can obtain your P2 Licence.

P2 to full drivers licence

To go from P2 to full drivers Licence you need to have held your provisional licence (P1 and P2) for two years plus at least six months on P2, and reached 19 years of age, without committing a driving offence. If you have incurred any demerit points while under 19 you cannot apply for a full licence until you are 20 years old.
